Close Encounter with a Humpback Whale

I was in a small fishing boat- more like a big row boat with a motor attached to it. It had seats built into the sides along the edges and I was sitting, facing out with my legs dangling over the edge of the boat.

We were watching 3 big whales putting in a show (not for us, but for the mama whale and her baby whale on the other side of the boat. They were leaping into the air, banging into each other. 3 macho whales putting on quite a performance for her, leaps and flips and crashing tail fins and banging into each other. This went on for what seemed like a long time. Then they stopped and went down into the depths.

I kept my eyes peeled for them to rise up again, but I couldn’t see anything.

Suddenly one came up right under my feet. He could have knocked the boat over easily, but I could tell it was a matter of choice not to. He came by to say “hello” - his eye looked at me and his body had all these pinkish bruises on it. He was only a few inches from the soles of my dangling feet.

I could feel the power of his energy, I could feel his intelligence and awareness. I will never forget it!!

It was such an amazing experience.
